I've taught every kind of student - from those who think they "can't do maths" to those chasing scholarships to top public schools. The key to progress is always the same: confidence, structure, and a teacher who listens.
My lessons are interactive, not lecture-style. Whether online or face-to-face, I use questioning, diagrams, problem-solving and humour to bring clarity. I want every student to leave feeling lighter than when they started - with a sense that the fog is clearing and that they can do this.
Subjects I Cover
- GCSE Maths (Foundation & Higher): All major exam boards, with focus on reasoning, structured problem-solving and exam confidence.
- Common Entrance & Scholarship Preparation: Building fluency and logic for 11+ and 13+ papers. I've taught pupils entering schools such as Malvern, Cheltenham Ladies' and Shrewsbury - including scholarship winners.
- Catch-Up Support: For students who've lost ground or confidence - rebuilding foundations with calm, structured teaching.
- Extension & Challenge: For those who love the subject and want to stretch beyond the curriculum - enrichment tasks, puzzles, and real-world maths.
Online sessions use Zoom or Google Meet with a shared digital whiteboard. Lessons are recorded on request, so students can revisit explanations. Most choose weekly sessions, but I also offer short-term intensive courses for revision and exam preparation.
Above all, I make sure maths feels human - a subject to be explored, not feared. When students discover that confidence and curiosity go hand-in-hand, they start to fly.
